Leadership Training - Module 16 - 20
16. LEAN, Six Sigma Overview:
Students gain an understanding of time-tested LEAN Six Sigma and Theory of Constraints principles, and how they can be combined for the most effective transformation to Process Improvement in support of your organization's LEAN Six Sigma initiative. Training is centered around a simulated project where participants get a faulty process baseline loaded with rework, travel, paperwork, and waste. Then they receive basic LEAN and Six Sigma tools and learn to implement solutions with these tools.
17. Basic Human Resources (HR) Law:
Students learn about business law as it pertains to HR and gain insights into the most common aspects of the law that impact today’s managers and leaders. They will examine essential elements of rules and regulations they must master to make effective decisions and remain legally compliant. The course can easily be modified to comply with specific state and local laws/regulations as needed. We can also adjust the curriculum to ensure that specific areas of concern or need are addressed wherever appropriate.
18. Understanding and Applying HR Policies:
Students learn to implement and apply the complex and often confusing array of rules and regulations they face in the workplace. Case studies and exercises help students understand why these policies are needed and how they can help the organization achieve objectives within established structures and boundaries. Students’ initial perception of these regulations as “roadblocks” and “constraints” evolves into an appreciation of these guidelines as practical tools that can help everyone succeed. The curriculum can easily be modified to comply with specific clients, geographical areas, or workplace concerns.
19. Hiring for Success:
Students master a structured approach to hiring the right candidate for the right position. Tactics discussed include: verifying/validating need for a new hire; gauging urgency level; posting/advertising; reviewing/selecting interview candidates; preparing for and conducting an effective interview; evaluating interview results; conducting a follow-up interview; making an offer; post-acceptance do’s and don’ts; preparing for and minimizing the “six-month slump,” OR preparing for “buyer’s remorse” situations.
20. Effective Time Management:
Understand your personal productivity, values-based time management, and how to best focus your energies to effectively plan your time around your personal goals and objectives. Students practice time planning for their own roles and responsibilities at your organization.
